Shreveport had (or has) a Hawaiian food place. I called to ask if they ever have shoyu chicken. They did not know what I was talking about.

The air station at Kaneohe was a great place to be a kid. A lot of beach front with no swimming but great for hanging out (plus good swimming beaches). No crowds. We'd go to the beach or pool damn near every day.

Thanks! It was on a houseplant I have on the porch. Stayed around a few days and caught some bugs.

This is 2022, you have to ask the spiders how they identify.

Either a jumping spider or a tarantula. There are several species of jumping spiders in Louisiana.

I like spiders. I usually relocate them outside.

Spoken like a true ag gal!

Spiders eat flies and mosquitos, far more harmful to humans than spiders

Snakes eat rats and mice who do far more to human food stocks than snakes

That being said, I have no desire to go to Australia due to the Funnel Web spider, in that case burning down a whole village is correct choice just to kill one of those vicious bastartds.

For your nightmares, here is a pic of a Funnel Web being "milked"

None of the harmful venomous spiders are going to leap up and attack you. They don't jump. They want to be left alone.

Funnel Webs are extremely territorial and aggressive. They can also jump to the height of the belt on an average man. Last thing I want my obit to read is "killed by spider after bite to balls"

Jumping spiders get such a bad rap when they are just helping you.

Those chartreuse ones that have an orange spot and seem to be shaped like widows? If so, what are they called?

I'm not sure I even knew what a kayak was when I was a kid. We did take surfboards out to an island in Kailua bay. I think it was to one of the Mokolua Islands.

The ones I'm talking about are Green Lynx Spiders.

Big difference between the non-poisonous North American funnel weavers and the Australian ones.

They have all kinds of killer species down under

Sharks
Jellyfish
Spiders
Snakes

Also have the most venomous mammal! The bite from this bugger is not poisonous but they have barbs in their back legs that are one of the most painful poisons on earth.

I’ve literally seen many big ol baws run and scream like a terrified child when the get one of those on them when hunting. I’m not a fan of them but they don’t bother me so it provides for a funny sight even if they ruined the hunt!

When this happens during the day, no big deal

When it happens after dark, a different reaction
