Google notalgia paresthetica and see if the description matches what you’re feeling. I get it sometimes after a workout. It’s annoying but apparently not serious.

Check in the mirror for any discoloration, or swelling. It sounds like you got a spider bite. The venom basically melts the flesh, but only in small patches.

Actually both of those are red flags to get your arse to the ER. (I've had 3 back surgeries including the 1st one on an emergency basis Christmas Eve '98.)

That’s why I said unless he has those symptoms he is probably ok to just see his doc Monday.
