and for all practical purposes, the island has been shut down.

Only logical explanation is masks cause Covid.

Just save the picture and post it as an image, unless you mean the source of the graph (i.e. the data).

Hawaii had the strictest lockdown of any state. They completely killed their tourist economy.
Currently anyone, including residents, traveling from one island to another have to quarantine for 14 days.
The businesses, restaurants, hotels, and shops that survive will still face staffing and training issues when they are eventually allowed to reopen because so many of their employees in the service industry have fled the state.

But I was told that this wasn’t an issue in Hawaii:

I think data is becoming clearer in a lot of places that you have to get to about 20 percent infected then the social distancing and masks pay off.

They will say tourists broke quarantine and caused this.
I don't know why the numbers are they way they are, but what if this is the legit reason the numbers went up? Would you think it is bullshite and they are just making it up? I am not saying it as if I would blindly trust what the government reports, but when I just looked at the map, I immediately questions what could have caused the numbers to shoot up and the first thing I thought was "tourist". That seems like a logical explanation.

And yes, there is an outdoor mask mandate even when jogging:
Well, that part is an outright lie.

The mandate also requires a mask outdoors, when social distancing isn’t possible.
There are exceptions. Children under the age of five are not required to wear a mask.
A mask is not required if you’re jogging or walking your dog outside and can stay six feet away from others, or if you’re inside a financial institution or at the ATM.
Those with medical conditions are also excused but Caldwell said the order recommends they wear a face shield instead.
First responders are also excempt if a mask hampers their ability to do their job.

Right, because covid chooses to play nice and get stopped by masks whenever 20% of an area gets infected, but not before.
Another completely retarded, although not at all shocking, take by you.
