Juvenile myoclonic epilepsy generally sets in between the ages of 12 to 18, but can be later. It usually requires lifelong medication, but can be managed.

The surgery wasn’t bad at all. I didn’t have much pain after. Just a slight headache and some brain fog. I had the brain fog before but thought it was due to menopause. My tumor was on the top of my head just toward the right side and right under the skull. It was considered aggressive because of its size and it was pretty invasive. I take Keppra and Vinpat and haven’t had any issues. It took me about 7 months or so to get used to the meds and for the brain fog to completely resolve. I feel pretty normal now and have no side effects. I’m not sure what a frontal lobectomy would be like. In my case, they just removed a tumor. I have another one in the posterior left side of my brain but it’s tiny and they’re just gonna monitor it. I have to have yearly MRIs for the foreseeable future. Hope you continue to stay seizure free!

Yes, 48 here. Every so often I would have bouts of Déjà vu that were immediately followed by nausea. Neurologist diagnosed me with petite mal. Take anti seizure meds to prevent them.

I had a random seizure when I was 25. A doctor and a nurse actually witnessed it. That was 30 year ago and it never happened again. No idea why it occurred.

Look at your alcohol consumption. Even if you don’t think it’s a lot it is a big culprit in this many times. Good luck.
