never snuck in for breakfast, but I stay in hotels very frequently and have often wondered if many folks do that.

I've seen people sneak into the hotels I'm staying at to use the pool. They're generally of the type that's historically a poor tipper.

Nothing to do with money, and yet you steal food? Sorry you're poor and trashy.

I have not, however a former co-worker of mine used to all the time. Drury Inn on Essen Lane in Baton Rouge. He "looked" the part of a business traveler and used to frequently have a "complimentary" breakfast at this hotel.

Closest I've come. One weekend I really wanted hotel breakfast. Idk why, just did.

Loaded up the wife and kids and went to the Holiday Inn. Had a great breakfast. They even made Mickey Mouse pancakes for the kids.

Went to pay and the bill was too low. I asked why and was told kids eat free. I didn't complain. Pretty sure it was for hotel guest only but I just went with it.

I still feel bad about it though.

Same here.
Had a client staying at a different hotel and met him there for breakfast.

when I was working in south Texas in 2013, the hotel I was staying at always ran out of breakfast before I would get off of work and never bothered refilling it, so I would go down the road to the Holiday Inn Express and eat their breakfast. Technically, it's theft, but I really didn't a give a frick since they were charging over $300 a night for a room. My small plate of food won't break their bank.

I once saw a bum eating the free bread & jelly at la madeleine while I was devouring my country french breakfast with extra bacon.

Never but I will use their lobby restrooms when on the road. Holiday Inn express is consistently the best

If you are going to do it, might as well do it right and go have the breakfast at an Embassy Suites

Never have but I thought about it this past week while staying in a hotel.

The place also had a happy hour with free draft beer and wine. That's what got me thinking.
