Border Collie has been put on a diet (even though she does a lot of frisbee catching every day). Vet says no dog treats other than Milk Bones. Ex-wife in residence says she read where milk bones are bad for dogs and she's going on and on about it.

I know they are not, so I bit off the end of one and ate it. She's appalled. They really are fairly tasty, frankly.

I figure that some of the other dog owners here have.

I ate a Beggin' Strip once. You'd think something that looked and smelled like bacon would taste good... you'd be wrong.

Have we discussed your ex in residence?

And I'm sure the best selling dog treat of all time is relatively safe for dogs.

I get this shite all the time on dog stuff. You have to ask whether they're not healthy like chocolate isn't healthy for dogs, or like chocolate isn't healthy for humans.

No they aren't. I ate a bite of one and it tasted like cardboard. This was around 1993-1994, so maybe they have changed the recipe, but what I ate could in no way be described as tasty.

It was very dry. The flavor wasn't bad at all though.

Nope

My dog eats dried banana and apple chips as treats, carrots as well. So I eat her treats all the time.

yeah, our dogs are fatties, so they normally get baby carrots as treats.

I work with a guy who ate 3 of them. He seemed to enjoy them, we call him Spike now.

I mean, we go grain free and don't give our dog crappy stuff, but it won't be long before we're feeding organic food to dogs and watching their gluten intake.

My dog would literally eat a tire. I don't think milk bones are going to significantly impact his health.

The article mixes up so many different treats you really can't tell what is going on.

So I use to be a camp counselor and one time we ran out of cookies for the kids, so we broke up milk bones and passed them out, kids never knew the difference.
