I have a HS classmate who completed the Haleakala climb a year after surviving a widowmaker heart attack.

Personally, I played in professional golf tournaments as a professional golfer.

and the one big goal i never met was 'ride to the sun' in Hawaii where you start at sea level (literally dipping your toe into the Pacfiic) and ride up the side of Haleakala which is 10,000+ feet. you have to pack a change of clothes because it gets so cold at the higher elevation.

I drove up it in a rental. I didn't need a change of clothes.

I’m working toward v11 and 14a rock climbs. It’ll be tough, but it’s doable

Get my Black Belt in jiu jitsu. I am a Brown Belt now. It’s been a journey. A long one. Maybe break 70 in golf but that would mean I at least need to sniff shooting consistent rounds in the 70’s and these days I just don’t practice or play enough to do that. Maybe more realistic goal for golf is that. Finally catch a Blue Marlin.

I'm 44 and started bow hunting when I was about 15. I've seen one deer while bow hunting that would've qualified. I only know b/c someone killed it during rifle season that same year. it was about 10 years ago I'll need divine intervention to pull off my p&y buck on this lease

I'm not patient enough and I like eating them too much to pass. I'm good at killing deer, not killing A deer. As long as does get me shook up I'll keep shooting them during the rut lol

My goals always move to unrealistic levels. I think it's good to push towards goals, but I admit go all in, then have the attention span of a toddler sometimes.

As an adult, I've completed an Ironman at a slightly better than average time for the race. Wanted to move to top 3rd and improve a stand alone marathon time to sub 4 hrs (I'm a slow runner). Quickly got burnt out and now don't do anything.

Got into woodworking and have created some high quality stuff, but loaded up on tools and kept moving sights to higher and higher end things. Got burnt out again. Still do it, but not as enthusiastically.

Now working on shooting/reloading. Want to build a 1000 yard gun.
