Louisiana is the most “staunch good ol’ boy network” state/area I’ve ever lived.

If you’re an outsider, you need not apply to most LA-based companies...

Dude. I saw it with Global Fortune 500 companies when it came to Louisiana locations.

For sure. I worked for a 500 and a 1000 company when I lived in LA... neither were headquartered/based in LA though.

Nice try to avoid answering the questions I asked. I suspect by your response you are not being truthful.

These enabling parents are the biggest problem. My wife works at a school, and the stuff she tells me is unreal.

Average student loan debt is less than the cost of a mid range truck. It's not that much.

The therapist should say well obviously that was best laid plans and good advice at the time, but you have to grow up and deal with things as they are.

Our youth are fine. I know many young guys who work plumbing, electrical, pipeline, offshore, fire dept, etc. They are still willing to do manual labor and the young 18 or 21 y/o I work with, most of them, are very hard and dedicated workers. Get of Twitter and realize today's youth aren't that much different than 20-30 years ago.

There’s nothing wrong with honest work. Whether it’s McDonalds, offshore, etc. At least you have a paying job and are contributing to society. The reason kids won’t work these jobs is because they don’t have to. Cut the support system off, i.e. govt or parents, and they’ll get to work

frickin A

You know what Boomers and Millennials have in common? They were both dubbed the "Me Generation". Apple don't fall to far from the tree, huh? The Boomer vs Millennial threads, articles, etc. prove it (and it makes serious fricking money to divide these groups). Every generation is obsessed with itself.

The boomer movement of moral superiority is the result of a bunch of old people dying at a serious clip, now doing their best to get into heaven since they can see their mortality falling over the edge just like every generation before them.

The Millennials are destined to do the same.
