I think the late 80s to mid-1990s was the peak. The internet had a lot to do with the downward slide (ironically stated on the internet).

Most everyone back then was patriotic in some way, even TV shows and movies reflected this position.

The country was still influenced by men that had lived through the Great Depression and WW2…men that knew hardship and perseverance.

Basically, things today just all look and have the same feelings and features.. The average housing all looks the same, cars all look the same, music, other than different genres, is all the same, television is all the same shite, movies and entertainment is pretty much the same...
you’re right…but there’s a solution that will make it better. The reason everything you see feels the same is that you are reaching for the same things that everyone else is reaching for, the low hanging fruit. Go deeper

Let your freak flag fly. Dig in the dirt. Find your tribe. Weird and colorful and unique America is still out there, like no other place on earth. Reject the ordinary and look for the things that are authentic to you.

That doesn’t necessarily mean dyeing your hair blue and getting facial piercings. Authenticity simply means it means something to you. Do not be afraid to be different and in short order you’ll be amazed at what you never were able to see before.

My number one suggestion for anyone feeling unfulfilled by the homogeneous ocean of crap being sold as the American Dream is to sync yourself up with the rhythms of the natural world in any way you can…plant a garden, plant wildflowers, travel to beautiful areas, eat seasonally, go barefoot, etc. you feel disconnected because you are disconnected and only you can reconnect

It’s still there and it’s wonderful

You're watching the death of a beautiful country right before your eyes. We can delay it, but its demise is inevitable. It didn't have to be this way, but people don't have the ability to be hard anymore. We decided to be as strong as our weakest parts. That is a recipe for disaster.
