Hell, my neighbor's 26 year old kid mows lawns in the Summer. He still lives at home, so no real bills. He has more nice grown man toys than anyone I know. I don't think there is a toy on earth he doesn't own. I doubt he makes more than $30k a year.

Yeah. 18, no credit history, low paying job .. I doubt he bought a D.D. rifle solely on a credit card.

“Low paying job” is one thing. But teens can save up like crazy if they’re motivated enough. My nephew saved up $3000 on a McDonald’s wage one time and still spent enough to buy some trendy clothes to look good for his girlfriend.

Not having to pay bills opens up a lot options if you’re motivated enough to save up for some purpose.

Sounds like something a SJW defending a car jacker would say. Not much to prevent someone from taking a car when you shoot the owner

But his weren’t. They were high end Daniel Defense rifles with optics.

For anyone

Did the 2 he purchased fall under being SBRs or AR Pistols? I am assuming the later since it purchase done soon before shootings.

Edit: Pics some news sites have posted are a mix of AR-15 and hard to tell length on ones I have seen more often as they were side by side by themselves. Might be longer than I thought as someone mentions below.

Not huge credit lines but these are exactly the kind of people credit card companies want to be using their credit cards.

An 18 year old living at home with a shitty job is more than capable of spending several thousand on guns and ammo. He clearly didn’t have a thriving social life to be spending any money on either

The DPS Col. explicitly said at the press conference that it was a debit card used. He also said something to the effect that "he had the money".

Probably just saved it from his job. Hell My Daughter has over $5k in her bank account.

Yea because there's just no way on earth the government would put people up to commit a mass shooting...

Hmmm.....

quote:

The injured security guard, Bruce Joiner, filed a federal lawsuit in October 2017 against the FBI and DOJ.[9][note 1] His suit argues the bureau "solicited, encouraged, directed and aided members of ISIS in planning and carrying out the May 3 attack", and is asking for just over $8 million damages.[9] Evidence submitted to court in previous cases confirm that an FBI undercover agent was in communication with the attackers and present at the Culwell Center during the attack.[6][8] When he saw the attack underway he attempted to flee and was promptly stopped at gunpoint by Garland police.[6][8][9]

Court pleadings filed by the federal government in January 2018 as part of an attempt to get the suit dismissed confirmed that the undercover FBI agent "was dressed in Middle Eastern attire and police almost killed him, but he saved his life by claiming to be an FBI agent."[117] In a media interview, Joiner's attorney argued the attack was either "Just a complete botched operation where they [the FBI] don't want the attack to actually take place" or it was allowed to proceed in order to "bolster [the undercover agent's] street cred within ISIS".[117]

Of course, the suit was dismissed because......reasons.

I imagine credit cards

My understanding was that the purchases had been made with a debit card. That means he had to have cash in the bank to make those transactions. There are a lot of things that aren't adding up. I'll leave it at that.

Edit: What exactly is “not adding up” about a teen with a fast food job and no social life possibly saving several thousand dollars?

This.

He was also probably planning this for a long time and used it as his goal.
