Never knew my great grandfathers. They were all gone before I was born.
But yes, my dad and his dad and I did a number of carpentry projects around their houses when I was a little kid. We built a deck, fixed some garage shelving, and regripped someone's golf clubs. They worked together and I remember a few business trips and greasy spoon meals at 6am en route.
I'm surprised at how much my little boy wants to help with manual work but I don't discourage him.

as a teen i was a little shite head who hated changing oil with my dad but as a 39 year old man i realize he was just teaching me not having me help him at all because he didn't need my help. i feel really shitty about that sometimes.

I built a porch at our camp with both my grandpaws and dad.
God forbid you miss hit a nail with a hammer one time and bend it.

quote:So people having kids in their 20's in the 40's and 60's is 'trashy?'
No, Im not from a trashy line with people having kids at 20 years old
Seems like generations of people having kids in their 30's is way more degenerate and trashy.

My dad’s father died when dad was just a baby. I also never met his father’s father. Dad was very close to his maternal grandfather but he also passed before I was born.
Count your blessings.
