We are looking at Ft. Collins area. Any suggestions ColoradoAG?
FoCo is a real nice little town, if you can handle how liberal the town and county are lol. The Cache La Poudre River can flood a little when its watershed up in the hills gets a lot of rain during monsoon season, but it's nothing widespread. Just don't live next to it and check the FEMA flood zone maps for it.
As for tornadoes, the town of Windsor just east of FoCo was basically wiped off the map in 2008 when an extremely rare tornado, much less an EF3, touched down that close to the mountains.

I guess one thing we do get frequently along the Front Range urban corridor is hail. It's always isolated hit or miss afternoon/evening thunderstorms developing over the foothills that are quick to pass and it's clear and nice again after they move east. Mostly small peas or marbles, but sometimes ping pong balls during rare storms. Hail doesn't get huge until further out east in the plains.

The facade of safety. Where you gonna go? Pretty much anywhere you live that's not boring as hell or shitty will have a 5% chance of having your home damaged by natural disaster.
Personally I wouldn't mind boring

I find it hard to believe that any place in LA near the MS River has never flooded
