[quote]I went to 8 (all family) funerals in 18 months, including my kid sister, my dad, both grandmothers, my brother-in-law, a sister sister-in-law.....
Then lost everything in the flood, and lost my job after 9 yrs, but hey I'm doing just fine.[/quot]

Paul .. prayers sent. I am in the same boat. Both parents, all grandparents.

Stopped believing in God and gave up on religion when my third born son died of cancer at 8 months. Nothing worse than seeing someone so little hurting so bad and you can't do a frickin thing.

Absolutely lost my Dad 9/2/1996 Labor Day and my Mom 12/1/1997 after that just became cold and used to death. I try and be someone else but I revert to just being an introvert.

My Dad passed away at 56, youngest Brother at 46 and best friend at 47. All three have showed me that life is too short to live unhappily, it's to be enjoyed and to always let those who you love and care about how you feel. We're not guaranteed tomorrow so live and appreciate today. Except for a few bumps, I've been blessed and successful.

When your grandparents die it's scary but death still seems far away. When your parents die you know you're up next. When your siblings begin to expire, death seems immediate and every day becomes more important than the last.

As I've observed death over the course of my life I've learned the importance of shunning those who don't add to your happiness. Negative people, whether family or friends, will suck the pleasure out of living like a vampire bleeds its victims.

It's much better to be alone than to be with someone who makes you feel lonely.

No words, just hugs and warmth. I hope you have both.

My brother passed who was a best friend/dad to me. I went on a downward spiral into self destruction. After getting stabbed and ran over in two seperate fights still didnt change my path. I was angry at the world.
Then my first born son died in my arms and I sunk further even faster.
The hell I caused myself was welcoming at the time.
I figure now the only way I made it through that time. Was because my mom was praying all the time over me. It had to be divine intervention honestly.
Time eventually heals all I suppose.

My life is not the same after losing my dad. Made me realize how short it is and what's important.
