GM never fixed the 4-speed auto transmissions. Don’t expect any fixes for the 6, 8, or 10 speed autos. If you keep GM trucks, just budget for an eventual transmission replacement.

2018 Silverado. Transmission went out conveniently at 107k miles. Had a 2015 LTZ before this that’s transmission went out at 110k miles and had tons of AC problems. I’ve never owned anything other than a GM truck, but this is my last one.

I have an 05 Z71 extended cab that i bought new. Still going at 208k miles. However, when I needed a new one 3 years ago, I bought a 2019 Tundra. Yeah it burns some gas but it's been great.

I have a 2021 F150. My recall notices are stacking up, I need to get it in. I have to use 4wd and lock the rear axle frequently. It’s starting to get a “thunk” in the rear end.
My next truck will be a Ram. Say what you want about Stellantis but the new Ram variants are killing it. Comfort and reliability.

My 2010 Silverado was a tank. I think I traded it in with 200k miles and had 0 issues. I’ll be going Tundra next time.
