My dad had a car (1953 Chevrolet) with the starter button on the floor -You turned the key then pressed the starter button while adjusting the choke lever and hoped it'd start.

I mean I’m 45 so yeah, but honestly haven’t even seen a car with manual window in 20 plus years

I remember as a kid my dad had a 70 something Nova. Not only did you have to manually roll the windows down, it had a little almost triangle shape window beside the roll down window that you could push it out to catch a little cool breeze. Also had a side vent you could pull a lever and air would come through the opening.

I miss this and wing windows. I've got a Tundra so the back glass rolls down. Definitely love that.

Also, kids today will never know the horror of locking your keys in your car followed by the sheer joy of pulling the lock up with a bent coat hanger.

I had roll up windows until 2020. Only replaced it because I was in an accident and had to get a new car

On the driver's side, you roll it counter clockwise for it to go up.

I've even cranked out the little vent window too.

I also bet a lot of today's young punks never had the 250 air conditioning system my first vehicle had. (For the uninitiated, 250 AC is roll 2 windows down and drive 50 mph)

I don't think my old sweaty arse could handle that during the hot summer months these days...

Lit something with cigarette lighter

I had a kid freak out when I showed him my old school cigarette lighter. It was like the glowing red coils was the most dangerous thing he had ever seen.

We use to get them red hot and then put the last bit of a roach in to huff the fumes.

If you still have an old 12 volt lighter it will work in newer cars. I have one that's been with me since 92

I parked beside a blinged out Monte Carlo today with the windows rolled down. Yep, they were manual.

I haven’t seen that in a while.

I'm 31, and I definitely grew up with those type of cars. That being said, I don't think I have been in any of those type cars in my adulthood, however.
in this boat. Last car I remember being in that had manual windows was my dad’s 1996-1999 Ranger

I loved it when it first came out, but some of those things quit working kinda fast. Glad they build them better now. We weren't allowed to play with that kinda thing too much bc dad just didn't trust them.

Im 30. My dad has an ‘08 gmc truck that surprisingly enough has roll up windows. Must’ve been right before they did away with them completely.

Now, who has seen an old vintage car with the spark advance/retard timing lever on the steering column? Betcha if your grandad or his dad had an old Ford, then he did.

eta: Might as well add horsehair stuffing in the seats too.

I learned to drive mostly in a ‘72 Nova (learned manual transmission in a ‘68 VW Beetle). A base model 2-door with Inline 6-cylinder and automatic on the tree. No AC and no power windows or locks.
