me either. i would certainly advocate for a healthy balance tho.

as in 25/75 or even 50/50. this in turn that would allow companies that have true shared working spaces to cut back on the size of their leases.

potential win/win for company and employees.

I love working from home but my company is way behind the times on this concept. Every couple of weeks I fight to remain working from home. No reason for me to be in the office at all I can do my exact work as a software engineer online. I love it.

I've noticed several pluses as far as my health goes - much less stress without jerks coming by interrupting with their petty thoughts and I sleep much better.

My main issue is me and my wife work for the same company and are both now working from home. I legit just don’t have the space in my home to support 2 people working from home. I

My husband and I both work for the same company in the same job function-we basically have a folding tailgate table set up in the basement & have 2 workstations and 4 large monitors set up. It’s really not taking up much space and it’s working out great.

I think it depends on the person and their field. I know people that love working for home and wouldn't go back to working in an office. My wife absolutely hated it. She volunteered to go back to the office last week

sounds like you work for a shitty company, IMO.

For sure. Was looking to get out before all this shite started

I was just casually looking before this, and with the way they’ve handled all this I’m really motivated to get out

Being at home all the time isnt healthy imo

Yeah but going outside (at lunch) in my hood to walk around is very nice.

At work going outside is a concrete jungle.

My company is still in talks about how to return. Sounds like it will be a slow one, in trying to keep the ones in the office 6 feet from each other.

Over the past 5+ years they have gradually renovated several of our floors, and the one I was on had maybe 100 people on it. Pretty cramped considering what the previous design was, with a mix of offices and cubicles. The "old" cubes were larger, and had full walls. Plenty of overhead storage space as well as a small 2 drawer file cabinet built in below. The new ones are half walls, and while they give a little more desk space with mounted monitor stands, there is little storage outside of a little file cabinet that is detached and on rollers.

Sounds like all of the future plans may be scrapped. No real way to social distance when you're backed up to three other workers and a short wall is all that separates you from a few more. My group is a small piece of our department and we're all going to keep working from home for the long haul. If we do go back, it is going to be split among WFH and office days. The last I heard was 1-2 days WFH each week, but I anticipate that will change. Ideally I would like to go in 2-3 days max, just for face to face meetings, and do the rest from home. I'm going to finish out a section of my basement, with a window nearby, and have a wired in workspace. Sure beats the alternative of commuting downtown every day, and not getting home after 6. It has been real nice to log off at 5 or a little after and just walk downstairs and be home.
