Of course, first half of the movie hit very close to home. Second half, way out of my league. I stuck with bikers, brothers and chemists. Screw that cartel shite!

Depends. What are you in for? Do the guards like you? What do you have the guards? What do they have have on you? It is a whole different world and you can possibly survive just fine just depends on circumstance.

Went to visit a buddy in the federal prison once. Seems pretty nice and clean in there. I had to submit paperwork for a background check and went thru metal detectors.

In jail you do one of two things, figure out how you went wrong so you can do it better or say this sucks I am not doing it again. Sadly, I think most of my friends who went to jail figured out how to do it better.

I’ve been told that EBR Parish prison is about as bad as it gets.

What jail? What is the circumstance. Did they rape you or someone you are speaking for on their behalf? I have had friends in lock up that knew something was was about to happen to them but for their safety it made more sense for me to contact the warden in the hopes of the getting them moved (these are drug and gun charges not pedo which makes a difference). The small town private jails like Concordia and Catahoula are more willing to listen than EBR. Also helps if you have a good criminal defense atty. You are too vague with your circumstance to give sound advice,

You would get labeled a rat.
Try to get put in adseg by doing something wrong
At least u will serve the time alone

Some jails have safety if you are a rat or drop out

When I was in gen pop in ebr they had us separated by blocks. So if you were in on like a drug charge, you weren't put with violent offenders or sex offenders.

I pretty much stayed talking to and watching TV with the Hispanics. I know Spanish and most of those dudes get stopped in a traffic stop and are illegal.

It’s not a place you want to be. Work has require me to visit death row, general pop and psyche ward. Creepy when you’re eye to eye with a man that killed another human with a claw hammer. ADOC Donaldson

I’ve done a month in EBR.
10 month in Catahoula/rapides parish (they shipped me after 6 months). Half of Catahoula was over flow from EBR.

It sucks tremndously. The food isn’t bad in EBR but the food in the other two were absolute slop on a plate. Eat your oatmeal with a fork kinda shite. 2 day old biscuits, except on tuesdays you got cinnamon rolls.

Dorm style, not cells like you see on the movie. Whole like a fighting and grouping up, find a group, stay with them but don’t really trust them either. Just fight with them if you absolutely have too because when the table turn and someone tries to fight you over something you didn’t even know happened, you’ll want some back up.

Read, sleep, stay to yourself as much as possible. Try to have some money coming in your commissary account so you can have a few snacks and buy cigarettes. But don’t over do it, no one wants to get in a fight over a bag of Cheetos with 220 lb street gangsta, but you damn well better do it if he tries to steal your Cheetos.

Don’t be a bitch, act tougher than you really are, and never never snitch or even look like your going to snitch. Keep your eyes on everything but see nothing at all.

Do your time, get the frick out. Don’t duck with the guards, they’ll frick your up just as quick as the inmates.

Try to get on a work crew of some sort. It helps pass the time and when you work, you have privileges, when your around other with privileges, everyone acts better because they don’t want to lose them. Regular dorms inmates act like animals because they are and have absolutely nothing to lose, especially if they haven’t even been to court yet.

Worked with a guy who did some time at Angola. He said it is greatly exaggerated. Said for the most part people don't frick with other people as long as you mind your business.

Didn't deny it happened though.

He was a prettt big black guy so his experiences might not be typical.
