Circa 1980, I found a $20 bill floating in the ocean, That's worth about $600 in today's dollars.

Years ago I went to a music festival on Pensacola beach, DeLuna fest I think. I ended up losing my phone. It was when iPhones were still new and I had just got one (grandpa died and I ended up with it) and had pics I didn't have backed up anywhere else. I didn't realize I lost my phone till late that night after I had left the fest. I was camping down at ft Pickens and got up at sunrise and drove back to where the fest was and walked the beach looking for it. There were crews out there already picking up trash, dismantling tents & stages and heavy machines combing the beach. I knew for sure it was gone for good. I started asking around and one of the guys picking up trash said that a guy over there had found a phone. I confronted said guy and he denied it, his buddy called him out and said he did. I told the guy I had some photos on it very dear to me and his buddy again spoke up saying he's got it. He reluctantly handed the phone over and walked away mumbling and Never looked me in the eyes. I thanked him and thanked his honest buddy even more.

Here's a before and after. Thought I had one of it before I cleaned it up with a buffing wheel but couldn't find it. Excuse my hands, been pulling up tomato plants.

We hit the Zales outlet on the way out to replace it. The lady said it happens all the time.

Sounds like they knew what they were doing setting up shop there.

Last summer my friend lost his Brietling watch at Perdido Key. $$$$

They looked and looked without success. As a last resort, they asked the sketchy umbrella and chair rental guy and, amazingly, he coughed it up!

Early 90s I was snorkeling off the beach at Sandestin and found 12 100s rolled up.
It came in very handy.

2 weeks exactly after my wedding I lost my tungsten band throwing logs on a fire. I saw it fly in, but couldn't get to it until the next morning as the fire was massive. It looks unique now and I get a lot of compliments on it.

that actually sounds kind of cool...

Wasn't sure how the wife would handle hearing about it when I told her. She thought it was hilarious thankfully. My buddy and i built a shield out of tin trying to get to it but we had no chance.
