As others have mentioned above, use the blue Loctite. It'll work just fine on the securing nut for the 1/4" jack input on your guitar. I used it on my Strat and it worked perfectly. Use as little as you can possibly get away with, though, so you won't have a big and highly visible glob of it showing at the jack when you tighten the nut- unless you're cool with the color showing.

It's the most volatile priced commodity I sell. Current price is around $ 410.00. It basically changes every time we buy it. I buy 40 barrels at a time, so I get a pretty decent price.

I want to avoid using heat on the guitar top. That's why I was hoping acetone would work well.

Try some Loctite on another screw and see if the acetone works before you put it on what you were actually trying to get to use it on
