I just read Catch and Kill, a new book by Ronan Farrow, the NBC reporter who broke the Weinstein story. It's an excellent read, and in addition to documenting Harvey's sleaze, it makes NBC look horrible for allowing him to kill the story. Farrow eventually published it in The New Yorker.

it works to some degree, it can make the difference in getting 8-10 yrs vs 10-15 yrs.
if the judge or jury thinks the defendant is just a weak sick old person they arent as intend on giving them the maximum prison time in most cases.

This right here. No doubt he is a horrible person but that isn’t illegal. Show me a single allegation where he forcibly raped someone and they immediately cut off contact and went to the police. Just one. Nope, they all just felt “pressured” because they wanted a movie part and millions of dollars. Then every one of them stayed in contact with him and many of them slept with him multiple times.
