Recon has 102kt at surface per s2k.
Which would make Harvey a Cat 3.

Does it run on natural gas or diesel?

Well, the good news is the 12z intensity models suggest Harvey won't attain Category 4 status.
The bad news is nearly a third of the models suggest it will still be hurricane strength 108+ hours out. That will only happen if it is over water, which isn't good news for Houston/LA.

I try to be honest with her, but it's the blind leading the blind here. I don't have a clue and have told her multiple times. I think the pros are guessing at this point.
I don't think it's going to be bad. Certainly not much wind, and I'll bet less than 5" of rain.

hours 12 to 24 are the key right now if this thing makes it back offshore.

I'm not seeing anything yet, but I could believe it.
The 947mb dropsonde still had 17kt surface winds, suggesting it wasn't exactly in the center.

Dropsonde recorded 947mb pressure w/ 17 kt surface wind, so likely 946mb, still falling. Also some signs Harvey is beginning to slow down.

That model scares me.
108 or more hours of hurricane winds with a saturated ground equals no good for trees, buildings, and pretty much everything else

Lots of time between now and Wednesday. Things change. That sucker could go out a little further in the GOM and for a little longer than they anticipate at this time, and restrengthen to a Cat 3 before turning back north again. Wednesday is a long way off.
