My dad always taught me to work smarter, not harder. I looked at the "10 key indicators" this article used to get its results but it was pretty convoluted. Just because someone is working harder, it doesn't mean they are working better or more efficiently.

When you look at "hardest working" and compare it to GDP per capita, you see a different picture, at least somewhat indicative of efficiency.
