Happy Veterans Day to all who served

To many this is just another day but to me it is definitely more than that. I raised my hand 34 years ago today in New Orleans and still to this day serve. I am surrounded by all 4 services at the Explosive Ordnance School anf for an all volunteer school, these men and women are quite special. God bless em all.

Congrats! I branched Ordnance and at OBC in the early fall of 2001 they made a HUGE deal about trying out and getting selected for EOD. We had about 5 guys trying out for it and they were always staying late to train and take tests like picking up pennies with dishgloves on and all kinds of crazy stuff to ensure they had the best candidates with very skilled dexterity. Fast forward just 2 years (you can do the math on the date I mentioned above because you know what happened in September) and I was sitting in a chow hall in the middle east and they were begging for more volunteers for EOD and pretty anyone could apply and go to school. It was pretty funny.
