He and Billy Strings just released a song/video California Sober.

Imagine what he might have accomplished if he had stayed off that wacky weed. Sad.

Last couple of times I saw him (2003 and 2006) he looked and sounded as if he might up and die at any moment. Hard to believe he is still kicking.

Him and Hank, Jr.are the last two. Well, Kristofferson is still kicking, also.

He just performed at the concert tonight:

quote:

8:20 p.m. A standing ovation from the crowd for 86-year-old Kris Kristofferson, who’s joined Rosanne Cash to sing “Lovin’ Her Was Easier (Than Anything I’ll Do Again).” Kristofferson, who’s attributed his well documented memory troubles to Lyme disease, is a bit shaky yet movingly determined as he trades lines with Cash, whose father Johnny famously played with Kristofferson in the Highwaymen. Very poignant. — M.W.

Happy birthday Willie.

Years ago I was staying at the old Broadwater Beach Hotel in Biloxi at the same time he was. Great guy. All of the lady bartenders around the pool loved him because he was friendly and tipped extremely well.

Pot smoking Beto O'Rourke supporter. This guy's been smoking pot for so long when they cremate him he'll smoke for a month.

I saw him in the early 2010’s, at Whitewater on the guadalupe I think, and remember being shocked he sounded so good. But I know that hasn’t always been the case.

I mean, for 90 years old, most of us can only dream of making it that far in such good shape.

As a boy,
I would walk
through the valley,
and gaze at the world
all around.

I made a vow,
that, somehow
I would find
Fame and Fortune.
Well I found it,
but look at me now.

I had a sweetheart,
who would love me forever.
I didn't need her,
I could reign all alone.

Look at me,
I'm the King,
of a cold lonely castle,
the Queen of my heart
is gone.

Gather 'round me,
you fools for the dollar.
Listen to me,
listen you'll learn.

Wealth is happiness,
and love: sent from Heaven above
The fires of ambition
burn.

I started out
with the dreams,
and the plans
of a wise man,
and ended up
with the heartaches
of a fool
