The entire story is bizarre. Someone in the record business put the two of them together. He agreed to produce her (recall his main acts to that point were AC/DC, Def Leppard, and Shania's countryman Bryan Adams, all of whom sold bajillions of records) and let her record her own songs.
They end up together in a 100-room Swiss mansion, living an effectively reclusive lifestyle unless one of them was working elsewhere. They were in one of these Eastern, Sant Mat movements: (no alcohol, vegetarianism and regulated sexual activity). The only people they associated with were her best friend/secretary and best friend's husband. Mutt ends up cheating with the best friend, while Shania ends up with the best friend's husband, ultimately marrying him (a muckity muck for Nestle).

Saw her in Vegas last Saturday night. Great show, I was impressed how she interacted with the audience. Played for 2 solid hours. Not a big fan of the blonde hair tho.
