It's 2018. Everything is a trigger.

But here's my issue. Where are his parents? Obviously, he is a minor. His parents had to sign off on this ad. No issue from them, but an issue for others who are offended by everything else?

quote:

"In the year 2018 there's no way brands/art directors can be this negligent and lack awareness.... We have to do better," designer Alex Medina said on Twitter, one of many who voiced their outrage over the advert.

quote:

Another user, Mimicgawd, posted a "fixed" version of the ad, with a reworked slogan that read: "Coolest Kid in the racist arse H&M catalog."

Do you have a process for finding race-related breaking news?

It’s like the Disney Moana Halloween costume. None of the Hawaiians had an issue with it. It was all purple haired, overweight, white SJWs who were flipping out.

I don’t understand how we grant like 8% of the population so much power. Why haven’t people learned to just tell them to STFU and move on?

Im guessing most of the “outraged” people are guilty feeling white folks

Good chance that kid and his parents aren't americans and don't speak english.

btw, referencing black people with monkeys has been a trigger for decades

The effort you put into finding something that triggers you is impressive.

It doesn't trigger me. I have a privilege life.

But I enjoy the open discussion that follows on here. Helps pass the time.

I think everyone is too sensitive these days, but it’s surprising that no one at H&M said, “Wait a minute guys. This could backfire.”

December- “We are the same as you. No difference. We want to be treated the same because we act the same. We just want to be treated like everybody else”

January- “OMG you put a monkey shirt on a black kid. Omg omg”

Dude it’s way less than 8%, it’s less than 1%
