“There is a cycle of love and death that shapes the lives of those who choose to travel in the company of animals. It is a cycle unlike any other. To those who have never lived through its turnings and walked its rocky path, our willingness to give our hearts with full knowledge that they will be broken seems incomprehensible. Only we know how small a price we pay for what we receive; our grief, no matter how powerful it may be, is an insufficient measure of the joy we have been given.”

Rest well Chip. You were a good boy

I hate this for you. We put ours down back in May after 10 years of unimaginable loyalty.
The hardest weeks are the next two - the silence is so loud and you notice so many little things.
Take comfort that you were his entire life and he loved you unconditionally. You did good.

Very sorry. It’s been said, but bears repeating…. I wouldn’t ever trade the good times with the pups to avoid the pain of the loss.

Lost two dogs in 6 months. I thought after putting mine down I thought it would be easier when my wife’s dog passed, NEGATIVE. Her’s passed this week. We had both of them when we dated (12/14yrs). Last night at the dinner table, we both looked at each other and said “ this house feels empty”.. my condolences my friend
