New Orleans is obviously resilient, but it Biden gets in office and does a shutdown (of which you know Latoya would gladly follow), it will get real ugly with the amount of businesses hanging on that will be finished off.

Broome? I don't recall us having subphases unless I just haven't been paying enough attention.
Sorry, I thought you were talking about Latoya. Maybe that's why it wasn't making sense to me. I guess I was reading through posts too fast.

What was your experience? Exactly

Sometimes I feel that 95% of OT posters have never been to New Orleans or have only been to bourbon street.
This is probably true.
That and a lot of people from other areas of Louisiana hate NOLA. Like for no reason.
I love New Orleans, one day I’ll move back. But it does need some work - but there isn’t a place in Louisiana that doesn’t. I just can’t believe the prices of the houses.

I was under the impression that New Orleans, and its economy, was really thriving? I thought that it was experiencing a resurgence?
Its economy is heavily dependent on tourism, festivals, service industry etc which has been severely affected by the shutdowns and worsened by the mayor.

A good bit of development was happening downtown, I think we are just about to finish our first 30 story building in a good while. And the hard rock was going to be cool haha.

What shipping do you think we still do out of the port? Most of that has moved to mobile and jacksonville.
What dry and liquid cargo from the Mississippi River is being loaded onto to ships in Mobile and Jacksonville?
Do you have any idea what you’re talking about?

Yeah, multiple friends just got fired because their companies were moving from nola to mobile and Jacksonville. So yeah, I do know a little bit.

You want to argue that things aren't as dire as some say? Fine. There are some arguments to be made. But you do yourself no favors by trying to say that it is better than it has been in the last 60 years. Anyone who believes that is completely detached from reality.

Why did they get fired if their companies were moving? Why didn’t they move with them?
They must be deckhands.
Tell me what do you know about the amount of dry and liquid cargo that is coming down the Mississippi River that is now being diverted to Jacksonville and Mobile.
How does that even work?

I'm born and raised and I love nola, but I'm not naive. It doesn't have many redeeming qualities these days.

Wtf are you talking about? I never claimed to know the shipping industry back and front. Just that jobs were leaving nola. They worked in finance and accounting. Smart people jobs.

To truely be an economic boost to a city you need companies headquartered there. Employing people in many different facets and areas. Not just your one random niche that you are working, get it?
