Hackers Threaten to Release Ashley Madison Info
I normally hate hackers but in this case it doesn't bother me. That site is lame.
You want to sleep around then don't get married in the first place or get a divorce.

I've never understood how that site is supposed to work. How do people put up a public profile looking to cheat with people in their area and not get busted by someone they know seeing it?
Also, how do people attach a credit card to AM and not get busted be their spouse?

I don't get it either - on Gawker the commenters are saying that there are a ton of bots and fake accounts and maybe that's the true point of this "scandal" - to more or less blackmail AM into paying hush money in regards to how phony the actual site is right before they're trying to go public. If AM is saying they have 37 million paying members (seems ludicrous on its face - that would be 1 out of 10 Americans who voted in the 2012 election

About 7 years ago I signed up for that site along with a few others just to be nosey and see if anybody I knew was in there. I got a 2 day trial for free but had to enter my credits card info and would be charge some huge amount monthly if I didn't cancel. I canceled that same day and didn't see any locals on there.

Preemptive strike. Smart. I like your style.

I did the free trial when I was single in college and they had that Super Bowl ad controversy with Ashley Madison.
I was curious. Of course I didn't recognize anyone because of my age. It was stupid so I canceled in an hour.
That was like 12 credit card numbers ago
I bet there are some rich people trying to pay off the hackers to remove their names. Talk about the ultimate blackmail ammo. 37 million people, you've got to think a lot of them would pay for your silence.

The VAST majority of people who have signed up have signed up to see if someone else is cheating so a ton of innocent people could get burned here

I used to like Henry Jones but dude is an unbearably sanctimonious windbag lately

As long as they don't find my Grindr account, I'm good.

My friend is a bit worried.

If it's a cancelled subscription then maybe your info was deleted?

The vast majority probably aren't even married so they don't give a shite.

Yes. Do you really believe 37 million American adults signed up for a cheating website because they wanted/needed to have an affair?
