I always try to get her number instead of giving her mine. This is my usual strategy:
I'll make up a reason to leave the conversation, while she's still interested, then I'll say "sorry I couldn't talk with you longer, why don't you just give me your number and we can talk later" then I hand her my phone and let her put herself in as a contact.
This usually works well especially in bars, probably wouldn't have worked too well in your situation though.
