the engineering involved to keep EVERYTHING out of sight is amazing. You see NOTHING under construction! It all has a green mesh screen. Also, you see nothing until you pay to see it. The Epcot ball/globe is behind trees.

The sightlines and sound thresholds within the parks are ridiculously well calibrated.

I've only been there twice (last year and the year before), and since I never went as a kid, I expected to be jaded as frick, but I was geeking out the whole time, tbh. Not for the same reasons my wife was, though

Security was a question for me. Walking into the park is like an NFL game, but once inside they are fairly unseen. I can only assume they are on top of this as well? With cameras and plain clothes guys all over the place? Maybe the guy picking up trash is really Liam Neeson and Jason Bourne combined.

Disney world in Florida btw. Observations. Good and bad.

I've been going since shortly after it opened - all in 7 times in 40 years. I'm simply unfamiliar with any place that houses, clothes, feeds, moves around and entertains anything like those crowds with anything like that efficiency.

Yes, it's fake, sterile and boring, but it is fake, sterile and boring executed so well you almost don't notice.

Good times...

Thanks for the wormhole.

Just spent the last 45 minutes reading that reddit thread.

Good stuff in there. Especially the story in the OP.

Epcot summed up in one sentence.

I enjoyed myself.

That's my guess.

Is this story real? So a few days after witnessing their mother decapitated and their dad had just died, unbeknownst to them, they are taken around Disney? They are from overseas and have no known contacts and they are escorted around Disney? Shouldn't other things be going on?

I haven't read all 5 pages of this thread but also had the same questions. Also, these kids would be adults now. I was wondering if the Goofy character guy knows what happened to them.

I am choosing to believe it because the world is full of enough terrible shite. Sometimes the world just needs a win.

Oh, mama liked the roses she grew them in the yard
But Winter always came around and made the growing way too hard
Oh, mama liked the roses and when she had the time
She'd decorate the living room, for all us kids to see…

Guy works at Disney for over 20 years, was apparently good at every job that was given to him, tops out only making $15 an hour, and gets fired for knocking Donald over when he was being a little bitch.
