children being lured by social predators is a big meme on the internet that just doesn't happen that often
It still happens though which is why it should still be monitored and preached to little kids.

in the time that that kid was abducted by a stranger (which is terrible and i have no idea why you're implying i'm saying anything otherwise)

more kids die from car wrecks than cancer, should we just give up trying to find a cure for cancer. This is not am all or nothing thing, there is room to try and help with both types of abduction

no but if this little experiment can save one kid, it was more than worth it.

here we go. This douche made this fake arse video to bring traffic to his prank channel. This is no different than the satanic ritual scare or the razor blades in halloween candy scare. People eat stories like this up like porn and don't care about stupid shite like "facts" or "statistics"

you seem to have a strange obsession with crimes against children

When it comes to kids, I am a big softie. Maybe it's because I'm a dad myself but the notion of anyone harming a child makes my blood boil.

But what caught my eye about this "experiment" though was more from a parenting standpoint. I can see why they want to teach their kids a lesson about the dangers of on-line predators, I was not sure I'd go so far as to traumatize my kid into thinking they were actually being abducted.

I have one boy and one girl. My girl is 7 and way too trustworthy. It scares the shite out of me. People who don't have kids will never understand that feeling.

Notice he states at the beginning of the video - "Be sure to watch this video from start to finish" or however he phrased it.

It's about ad revenue. He knows what he's doing. He may have a good heart about it, but his goal in the morning is to come up with an idea to get his page hits and his revenue rolling.

if this scares you, then you should never let your daughters get in a car with anyone (including you) or go swimming

And definitely not talk or text to an actual 15 year old boy that they know from school, church, or sports. That boy is real and actually wants to give her the penis.

Same here. My 7 yr old girl is the most pure hearted and friendly little girl you'll ever meet. She doesn't have a shy bone in her body. This summer whenever my wife would take her to the local water park, she'd always go up to total stranger girls around her age to make new friends. One the one hand I love that she's such a kind soul, on the other hand though it terrifies me. It's one of the biggest reasons why whenever we're out somewhere or even just letting her play in the yard, I watch her like a hawk.

Why should he not let his daughter get into a car with him? And why should he not take her swimming?

That's no way to live. I could sit here and worry about my kids all day, but the fact is they are fine and will be fine.

That's the idea. I'm not saying you're not actually worried, I'm saying you shouldn't be. Videos like this get millions of hits because there are millions of gullible parents who love to have their irrational fears exploited

It's about allowing trivial statistics and fear mongering videos to influence your actions.

More girls drown in swimming pools than are abducted by strangers prowling for prey on the internet. More girls die in car accidents than are murdered by serial killers.
