...But the memories of childhood stay with you for the long haul. I remember a place, a town, a house like a lot of houses. A yard like a lot of other yards. On a street like a lot of other streets. And the thing is, after all these years, I still look back with wonder.

Almost wrote a short story. Got several friends going through some serious shite right now.
Hug your friends and family. But don't stop there. Someone is always going through some shite and is in the weeds. A simple act of kindness can go a very very long way.

It’s amazing how some parts of life feel like they lasted forever and other parts swoosh on by. Try to enjoy the present bc it seems like time just keeps speeding up.

Okay quick story. My grandad helped several people along the way through simple acts of kindness. Humble man. Learned a lot of stuff about him during Alzheimer's. He could not remember what day it was but when I would take him on drives through the country he knew who owned properties in the 60s and what they were growing etc. I had know idea how many people along the wau of lives he changed for the positive. Just thinking about it now he is the 1 percent. The one percent that did simple acts of kindness throughout his life to change lives. Tell you what though he was the most stubborn son of a bitch and that is a compliment.

I'm sorry you haven't experienced a good hug. At some point some douchebags made hugging "gay" and tried to say it is some femininist thing. When you lose a friend or brother you think when was the last time I embraced them with a hug or long handshake. frick a handshake. When you haven't seen a brother in a while a handshake is for people with insecurities. Nothing wrong with that I get it but handshake is worthless gesture.
