This is the truth. Saints lost to the falcons? Blame the media! People driving slow in the left hand lane? Media covered it up! Burned your roux? Media!

CC people talk big about carrying their guns with them. But I find it funny that you never hear of any instances where crime is stopped by some bystanding baw with a glock.

I have CHL and carry fairly often in BR. The rules are pretty strict about BAC and carrying (which I understand). So even people that are licensed to carry really can't if they are out drinking in the quarter.

Funny considering these were very likely Democrats that did this

The French quarter isn't that big to be unable to prevent all these robberies from happening in public.

New Orleans certainly isn't getting their bang for the buck on the $6 million a year it's costing to have all those extra troopers assigned to the quarter

I have a CHL also, and I have zero qualms about drinking while carrying. If my choices are: get mugged and / or murdered because I am following the law, or carry while I am drinking and save my life or my family's....I'll take the fine and community service.

Could you help me understand what "talk big" is in relation to concealed carry?

I gave a plausible reason why you don't see concealed carry holders stopping these kind of crimes. Tourists probably don't carry and concealed carry isn't allowed in bars which stops 99% of the other folks in the quarter.

Yeah I get both sides of that one. Mine is usually with me but at 41 with kids I'm rarely out drinking and partying anymore

In general you never really hear of a suspect being stopped by someone with a cC. Not just the quarter.

Went there for the 4th of July weekend with my fiance' and we had a great time. Didn't get mugged, sodomized, ridiculed, murdered, not even approached by any questionable people. Just had fun shopping and bar hopping in the Quarter it was great!

You can insert any city into the headline where a robbery has occurred, it's everywhere not just NOLA.

The sun is up at 6:30 am.

He could've been going for breakfast somewhere for all you know.

I am in the same boat as you are, my wife expects me to carry a pistol while I am with her and the kids in N.O.

As to random shootings and what not being stopped by CC people: I have seen one assault this year, stabbing in the French Quarter. I had my Glock, I saw the guy running down the street right past me... I watched him run right by.

Popping a dude running down the street isn't something most CC people are going to do. Legal ramifications aside, a civilian shooting another civilian (even a criminal) is going to leave the shooter in some combination of jail, court, and debt.

Yeah, I totally forgot about Austin, Dallas, Atlanta, Nashville, Tampa, etc..having as large of a frequency of crime issue as NOLA.

I've had NOPD homicide cops tell me to GTFO as quick as possible if I take one out to avoid the shite you mentioned above. The nopd won't investigate a murdered thug they will work on cases where the thug killed someone impt

Seems like your attempt to avoid the obvious is wrong again.

Some of these are cc, and some are not. Either way, good guys winning these stories. Problem is that too many people don't want to know these real stories.

Good Guys Winning

I have a cc license. Sometimes i carry, sometimes i do not. In the case that I am going to the FQ, i take an uber/cab to the front door of the place i am going, and do the same to leave.

New Orleans needs a citizen brigade to protect people from these thugs. Lord knows the police are able or willing to do it.

Paul Kersey will not be coming anytime soon, and Mitch would just run him out of town by midnight.
