Couple of facts to give first:
1. The majority of the groomsmen are golfers
2. Wedding party will probably be asked to buy matching suits as opposed to renting tuxes. Perhaps ties/cuff links as gifts?

Why did you edit out the fact that you are getting married on a cruise ship?

Didn't think it contributed to the question as I originally thought. Is that ok?

Pay for their suits or rented tuxes. By far the most practical and useful thing you can do.

Then you need to buy the suits.

no to cash ...

for golfers ... you could get them a valuables pouch, maybe monogrammed, with a pint of their favorite whiskey ... and/or a flask ... ball marker/pitch tool monogrammed or of their college ... golf shoe bag ... maybe a certificate to a golf shop/course nearby ...

a guy once gave me a monogrammed toiletry/travel bag that i kept for 20 years ...

frick that!

You better buy them something nice. My guys liked the knives I got them but they weren't asked to buy a new suit.

Everyone does cuff links. Do something unique. But don't expect unique ideas from us

You're getting married on a cruise ship?

You are asking the wrong question.

Try:

"Will my new wife let Gopher finger-bang her before the cruise ship gets back to port?"

I was in a wedding a few weeks ago, spent 25p renting a tux. Didn't get a gift. Didn't bother me so I thiNK anything will be good.

The best groomsman gift I ever received was a large monogrammed Eddie Bauer duffel bag. I've had it now for 15 years and still use it one every hunting/ fishing trip, weekend trip, etc. It has held up extremely well and will be with me for many more years.

I hope you're not asking the groomsmen to pay for a cruise AND matching suits for your wedding.
