Offered a promotion @ work and would have to relocate there. I’ve heard good things. Can anyone give me the inside scoop?

Come to the SC board and get some tips.

Short version: Beautiful, clean, small Southern city with plenty to do - especially if your an outdoors guy. It’s in SC so it’s relatively cheap. You’re in the Deep South so college football is king.

Downside: Swarming with Clemson fans.

Its better than BR thats for damn sure

Shirt drive to mountains. And SC has a lot more going for it than LA

Greenville has plenty of ghetto areas though

Nice little area, flights to and from are very pricey ( in comparison) if you travel a lot.

You ought to just move the extra hour to Clinton. Thank me later.

Great smallish Southern town with an up and coming downtown. Centrally located to roadtrippable destinations. Lots of outdoors activities. 4 seasons. Low cost of living.

Where are you moving from?

This is some of the worst advice I have seen on this board

You're half an hour from the Blue Ridge Mountains. You're close to Atlanta and Charlotte. You're less than 4 hours away from the SC coast. It has a great downtown area and lots of young professionals. If it wasn't for the close proximity to Clemson, I'd move there in a heartbeat.

Did a day trip there from Charlotte last weekend. Very nice and clean downtown.

If you're used to living in Louisiana cities, it will be a big improvement.

Lived there for 10 years. Going back as soon as I can retire. No better place. I have lived throughout the Southeast. No brained for me

Great little city. I lived in nearby Asheville for 16 years and got to Greenville often. Enjoyed the minor league hockey and the Bosox minor league farm team. Several great restaurants and pubs and much outdoor activity close by. Easy drive for Braves games several times a season.

Contrary to what was said in an earlier post, airline prices not too bad if you fly Southwest. I'd drive past Asheville airport to get to Greenville/Spartanburg airport on many occasions.

My Aunt lives there and seems to enjoy it. Seems a little too Clemsonish to me.

Great town. Lots of interesting stuff. Pretty much something for everyone. It's also easy driving to Charlotte, Charleston, Asheville, and Atlanta.

I lived there for a bit and thought it was a charming city. The downtown has potential with a couple good food spots but I remember the night life kinda sucked, very family oriented. Asheville is only an hour away if you like beer and good restaurants. Also, you don’t have to drive very far to go on a good hike. Avoid all the Bob Jones U weirdos and you’ll be fine.

Lived here for ten years and it is great. Don't mind the comments about ghettos. We don't have many and you won't ever be in them unless work makes you.
Who do you work for?
