Even better, the employees aren't allowed to work and will get backpay for every single day they don't work. Think of it as free vacation you're subsidizing.

#1 Even tho the government shuts down, all pay is accrued and due when it starts back up + interest, so actually MORE expensive to shut down.

The government doesn’t actually shut down anything you would think it should shut down. Instead, they actually go out of their way to shut down things that will cause taxpayers the most pain. But the fat cats in DC still get all their benefits.
