We need a grassroots business movement where all the owners say frick it and just open up with pre-covid rules and regulations. Maybe change some of those up too. Who’s going first?!?

I cannot find JBE's proclamation. I guess he is going to wait until Monday or fight it.

Or he just doesn't issue it.

Does that mean the state of emergency is over? It's all a matter of who looks to what part of the law at that point.

Go to any store in Metairie and it's close to 100% masks. Went to Trader Joes yesterday and I felt like if I took off my mask I'd be attacked by Ken's and Karens and beat to a petchuli oil pulp.

Wrong. Stay out of Starbucks, Trader Joe’s, and Any liberal originated places and no one cares.

It was always about money and the election.

WBRZ is acting like the nothing has changed. I bet the media doesn't report it's terminated.

I think the governor is forced to make a public proclamation about it.

He is supposed to, but I doubt he will. In which case he would be breaking the law.

quote:

Landry said the law is clear: The governor must terminate the public health emergency if the House or Senate delivers to him a petition with a majority of signatures.

“The governor must do it immediately,” Landry said. “There’s no discretion. It’s a mandated act. He can’t say, ‘We’ll I’m going to sit on this for a week. Or well I’m going to see if it’s legal. That’s not what the law says.”

“If the governor refuses to follow the law, we’re going to treat him like anyone else who doesn’t follow the law.”

Well this could get interesting real fast.

He’d be our next governor by a landslide.

Technically JBE would be breaking the law if he does not issue a proclamation of termination. The governor of La can be impeached and the GOP has the votes in the state senate to convict and remove him from office. Of course the GOP in the state senate do not have the balls to do it, but if they get a set of testicles and/or a backbone in their Christmas stocking they would have the grounds to get rid of JBE.

Re-elect him?

Because that's what we seem to do in this state.

I can't believe Louisiana is dead last in so many categories that the legislature spent so much time and energy fighting this for a simple mask.

Restaurants open, bars, basically everything. But over a simple mask they want to go through all this trouble.

Truly shows they can care less about the state it's all ego.

Why not fight for education, health care, the shitty roads, high car insurance, businesses and people fleeing the state for decades. Yet this is what they chose.

This happened in Michigan (similar safety measures). With the governor’s guideline expiration, the MI Dept of Public Health re-instituted the measures.
