Got pulled over yesterday and didn't get shot

I was pulled over yesterday for running a red light. As soon as I saw the motorcycle cop hit his lights, I pulled to the far right lane, hit my flashers and pulled over in the nearest parking lot. I rolled my windows down, had my license ready and kept my hands on the stirring wheel. When he asked for my insurance I showed him the copy on my phone, answered his questions politely and respectfully and I did not act like I knew the law better than he did.
Not only was I not shot but I got a warning and a card to to file a complaint or complement for the officer.

Your obedience reminds me of the days of slavery.

Odds of it happening are less than you getting struck by lightning.

You know who also followed directions? Philando Castille. He was then murdered.
"Philando Castile was not resisting or fleeing."
"There was absolutely no criminal intent exhibited by him throughout this encounter."
"He was respectful and compliant based upon the instructions and orders he was given."
"He volunteered in good faith that he had a firearm – beyond what the law requires."
"He emphatically stated that he wasn't pulling it out."
"His movement was restricted by his own seat belt."
"He was accompanied, in his vehicle, by a woman and a young child."
"Philando Castile did not exhibit any intent, nor did he have any reason, to shoot Officer Yanez."
"In fact, his dying words were in protest that he wasn't reaching for his gun"

Andrew Finch committed no crime and followed directions.

Even as a white kid, I was given a version of "the talk" about being around police/getting pulled over.
To this day, I still get slightly nervous because going to prison sounds like a terrible fate.

I thought he kept putting his hands down like he was reaching for something?

I hear ya. The odds should be zero in my opinion.

Very subtle, “driving while white” brag.
