Do I have to pay this, or is this like the unenforceable red light tickets?

If you live in Nola and park on the street then pay it because you will get a boot. If you never plan on returning trash it

Can we just get a sticky on this thread since the topic pops up so often?

Don’t live there, but go to events, visit family, etc.
ETA, ah shoot, it’s only $110, might as well pay it.

This is correct ... as mentioned in one of the myriad previous threads on this subject, I received 10 or 12 photo camera tickets in NOLA in less than a year.. i paid them, but only b/c i lived and worked in NOLA.. if you don’t pay, you’ll never get an arrest warrant, it’ll never raise your insurance rates, it’ll never go to collections- but they will boot your car on a public street, then you have to pay all the tix to get it unboooted.. now that i’ve left NOLA, they can kiss my arse.

Also, i have an exemplary driving record overall. The photo camera tickets I received were ALL bogus, for things like going 24 mph in a 20 mph school zone on a Sunday, when no one was in school.

My niece got one in a school zone on Canal driving my car in June. I sent the AZ folks an email. They sent me a dismissal.

I got one of those and was actually able to get it thrown out. The wording was, “I received on it around the time and date.” I was in Shreveport on that date and could prove that. The other mistake they got me in a school during school hours...only it was summer break.

Do you have any other tickets? I believe the current rule is they cannot boot you unless you have three outstanding tickets but double check that.

The company that issues them, Redflex, is based in Arizona. This begs the question, is it legal for the DMV to share your personal information with a private company? I don't know but they do.

I think Redflex is in Arizona if they are still in the picture.

Always wondered this as well. I guess they gave Mitch a nice check for awarding them the contract to put up the cameras. Our new mayor campaigned to take them all down but this hasn’t happened yet.

Because it is a scam, a racket and a money grab... pure and simple.
