You paid 6 dollars for nothing

Nope, I had peace of mind it was done with that payment. It was well worth is. I'd hate to get stopped and have some kind of stupid warrant. You would sit out on $6 to have something like a ticket taken care of??????? You're not thinking if you wouldn't.

You know how when an actual officer gives you a ticket, you have a court date listed if you want it? Yeah...that’s cause we have fricking laws. Due process does not mean that you have to request a fricking date and ask that they prove you guilty. The onus is on them.

Family wide so far we paid the first 2-3 and then I realized it is a fricking scam. Haven’t paid 3-4 now and not one thing has happened. The first of those was a ticket for my vehicle that I was working during the time period 30 miles away. I kept telling them to get fricked and nothing ever happened. I knew then that there wasn’t shite they could do.

Got several. Never paid them.
They sent intimidating letters and the letters got more intimidating each time coming from the city, a lawyer, a collection company, then one day.... they disappeared. Stopped coming. Nothing ever touched my credit report or drivers license. They know better. It’s a scam and they’re circumventing criminal law by trying to collect it as a civil penalty. In a traffic offense, you have to sign the ticket you receive admitting guilt or saying you will appear in court if you want to dispute it. Robots remove due process and are unconstitutional. See: Nola refunding millions to the citizens from traffic cameras.

That’s beyond fricked up. Thankful TX has a sane governor who banned the use of red light cameras.

Well.... those cameras do take some pretty good and clear pictures from what I have seen.

I received one in Selma, AL coming home from a shutdown in my company vehicle. Same company as all the rest but I was ordered to pay it so it "didn't effect company insurance". I proved to them it was all a scam but had to pay anyways. Now I just avoid that intersection when I travel through Selma (wish I could avoid Selma all together but alas it is the only way to get home without going through Atlanta.

Possibly a related question, do you pay the tolls that the state of Florida sends to you?
I feel that that is in line with the red light tickets on the grounds that Florida can't prove it was the owner that utilized the toll road, thus shouldn't be on the hook to pay it.

How would you have a warrant for an offense given by a non governmental agency?

My idiot stepson had about 6 of them at one time many years ago and they eventually booted his car on the street right in front of the house due to non-payment. He scrambled to get the money and paid the tickets and off came the boot.

Some were the typical Red Light tickets and he also had parking tickets issued by meter maids, and those may have been the ones that got him booted.

I didn't ask how much he owed because it wasn't my problem and I really didn't care since he didn't care to take care of business before it got to that point.

It was the parking tickets as they're issued by actual humans authorized/deputized to handle those sort of infractions. No mater how annoying, I've always treated any parking tickets I've gotten as legit.

And one day you're going to find a boot on your car if you park on the street in NOLA. Meter maids drive around with license plate readers and boot cars.

However, if you change your license plate, you likely won't have to face this. They're too stupid to cross reference old plates and new plates.

Collections for what? Did you voluntarily incur a debt? No. F them and their fricking road tax.
