bullshite excuse. I’m in recovery as well so I know how us folks think. You’re afraid of failing the bar or not getting reinstated. If you don’t try, you’ll definitely regret it. Worst thing that can happen is you don’t pass the bar or you don’t get reinstated. They’re not going to throw you in jail or murder you. Absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain.

I applied for that last year and just now got the rejection e-mail.
I think the job description entailed interviewing new clients and going over the initial paperwork.
