Goodbye Morning Call, We Hardly Knew Ye

Morning Call shuts down longtime Metry location due to rent increases and to focus on City Park location. Then, about a month later...

I liked Morning Call in Metry just fine.
The few times I went to their City Park location, the service was always very, very slow. It's a crowded spot, popular with tour buses. But they seemed like they could never figure out how to get any faster / better service.
My guess is CDM just has more experience dealing with the crowds.

Your guess is wrong. The better guess is CDM paid significantly more than MC.

Cafe du Monde has really gone down hill. The beignets are not consistent; your bag may have a regular size beignet and two tiny ones.
They'll fill your to go coffee 2/3 full.
I wish Morning Call had a drive thru in Metry like du Monde does.

Nope, even worse. Morning Call had the best bid, but they didn't attend the mandatory pre-bid meeting, so their bid was thrown out.

Sounds like a Louisiana Politics type deal. I’m guessing the bidder with the “best” handshake (ie most cash in the hand) won. Business as usual in Louisiana.

Well that was dumb.
My only problem with MC was their creepy arse servers and their slow service. That whole crap with them having to put every order on a clip board with the boss was annoying. And fck a cash only place
