Doc, Cat Island (in the Mississippi Sound) has these ridge features down it's spine that run almost directly East-West (see image below). I've always wondered are they originally from former alluvial action or from (more likely) deposited from wave action as global water levels changed? Your diagnosis please?
There are similar ridges just North of Cat Island on the Land Mass proper, just West of Point Clear. Since there's usually very few topographical features in that area (as in three: marsh, super flat savannah and beach) they've always stood out to me. Thanks.
