It was 71 years ago today that the Allies invaded Normandy and began taking Europe back from Hitler.

Damn, how brave were these guys?

Had 5 uncles and my Dad there. Had one uncle got killed in Perl Harbor at 17.

Some of the stories they told was just unreal.

Morning people.

Murnin peeps. Fish, I too had family involved in D-Day. Grandpa, and his two brothers. He never would really talk much about any of it. He was a medic that went in on the 1st wave. Said they gave them 10 times the morphine, wraps, and a grease pencil. I think most people can figure out what the pencil was for. They were all told they wouldn't live through it, but it was necessary to make sure their families wouldn't become Germans. There is a reason that they are called the greatest generation.

It is also my wedding anniversary today. Heh heh heh

Had a great uncle killed there. My great grandmother never got over losing her son. Very sad indeed.
