Girlfriend and I want a dog as well. We both like labs and golden retrievers, however we would prefer something that doesn't shed quite so much. Want a trainable dog that enjoys water. We are out on the boat often, want one we can take with us and enjoy the day.
What ya got?

I'm racist, I don't want some kinky haired mix breed shite.

We looked at those, she just doesn't want to pay what they cost. Breeder we found want's $1800.

I wanted a short hair to avoid all the grooming. Got a boxer. She sheds EVERYWHERE CONSTANTLY. Always has. Vet said she's in awesome health and that her coat is quite nice though so I guess she's just a shedder. First boxer I've had so maybe they are all that way

They shed a bit, but their hair is so tiny you don't even notice. Ours loves water and fits the rest of your criteria.

I know someone who just got a labradoodle. It's an AWESOME looking dog that doesn't shed. They paid over 2 grand for it though. I have a lab that I've worked with a lot and is trained to retrieve. I would get a labradoodle as my next dog in a heartbeat. This dog has the same build and temperament my dog. Problem is each litter may look different than the others. I will be in the market for one when my children are old enough for a dog.

You should get an Airedale Terrier

1. They don't shed like labs
2. They are hypoallergenic
3. They are the king of terriers
4. They were initially bred with otter hounds so they love the water
5. Teddy Roosevelt owned airedales
6. If a pit gets squirrely around you the airedale can take them out

Schnauzer's don't shed. Great dogs.

Loving. Lazy. Freindly. Low maintenance, dogs.

All dogs shed. Shorter hair is harder to notice. But if you've got a pet, you've got pet hair that's been shed.

I recommend a Schnoodle. They aren't nearly as much as the Labradoodles or Golden Doodles. Super smart, don't shed, and you can get them in a variety of sizes.

A mutt that is part poodle (probably has some retarded made up name for mutt aka goldendoodle, schnoodle, etc...) or just a poodle. Poodles are smart as hell and have the coat you are seeking.

They are harder to find in shelters because backyard breeders search for them to breed and charge people lots of money for a mutt.

I married my wife and the poodle was part of the deal - i actually love that dog for sole reason it doesn't shed.

After the years I really have come to love the dog. Great breed for kids. Great lap dog. Today is her birthday as well - shout out to Sophie.
