We went to the Biloxi one recently and paid a little more for a jr. suite. I was floored at how bad shape the room itself was in.
Rest of the property seemed fine, but gosh those rooms need some TLC.

I stayed at the one in Biloxi once expecting it to be similar to lake Charles and was severely disappointed, it was a dump and nothing like the one in LC

October 9th and 10th is $576 a night before taxes and fees as well

Sometimes the key is to wait closer to the night of the stay, if there are rooms still available the rate will start to come down, but if there is a concert or a big game that weekend that packs in the gamblers from Texas, you can expect to pay Top Dollar for luxury accomadations.
Or you can always stay at one of the in Sulphur unless you plan on getting drunk and need a hotel to stay on the property.
One time I had to go to a tournament in Sulphur and wanted to spend a Saturday night at one of the casinos to use some of my tier status to bum a free room from the casino. Luckily there was one available at the last minute I could snag, but I changed my mind before finalizing the booking.

I did see that they are renovating some of the rooms there as part of a 22 million dollar renovation.
WLOX - Biloxi ran a story about the Golden Nugget donating some of the furniture, fixtures, lamps, and other goods to Habitat for Humanity's ReStore Locations. So, if you wanted to buy one of those trashy Golden Nugget stylized pattern you could pick some up at a Biloxi ReStore Location.
