FedEx is an awesome company to have a career at and is known for promoting from within, what was the pay like, relative to the time that you were doing that?

Loyola offers a night program so obviously it is doable. I question the value though. Looks looks part time program at Loyola New Orleans is $1,400 per hour and program is 90 hours so it’ll cost you over $126K

I think I was getting $17/hr plus benefits, which were unreal. $35/month for everything no deductible. (Health, vision, dental) Also had 401k.

Now I'm paying 1300/month in health insurance with $3500 deductible each. I'm looking at 22k exposure this year alone. Thanks, Obama.

I didn't get a job with legal in Memphis out of school. Didn't apply again. Oh well. Nola >> Memphis.

sounds good, FedEx has always been known for having good pay and benefits for just about all areas of their company, back when our industry was stagnant, and particularly after 9/11, FedEx never missed a beat, every other company in the field was asking for cuts in all areas while FedEx was throwing money at their pilots

Pre 9/11 we also got to fly jump seat a lot bc Fed Ex is an "airline." The terrorists fricked that up for us.

Fred Smith flew with pilots in the military. He took care of his own.

trivia(except you probably know this,) he grew up down the street from Elvis after he bought his first nice house, pre-Graceland, it had a pool and E would let the neighborhood kids(Fred being one of them,) swim in it whenever they'd want

ETA: that dude that tried to commandeer the DC-10 and crash it into hq didn't help much either I have a copy of the cvr obtained from the FBI, very chilling

I have a blind friend in New York who put himself through law school. He is out all hours of the night and when I do see him he is bruised and hurting. Law school can be rough, but if he can do it so can you.

Some law schools won't permit you to work your first year
ABA has a prohibition against it.

So if you want to go to an ABA accredited law school, there's going to be a rule against it.

Oh wait that ABA prohibition only applies to full time students. So you could go part time to southern part time, but I'd honestly only recommend this if you have a job already lined up after passing the bar.

I have my CPA as well as a CFE (certified fraud examiner) and CFF (certified in financial forensics).

I have a friend that is a CPA and a JD. He worked primarily as an accountant, but having both degrees opened doors for him that he would never have known about.

I would think with the combination you already have, plus a JD, you'd be in very high demand.

Best of luck to you.
I constantly kick myself for not going to law school. Too late now.

Fear mostly goes away after the first year. That said, I'm 10 years out and if I was out eating lunch and someone from out of the blue said "Mr. Pettifogger, why don't you tell us about Federal Rule of Evidence 403" and I'd probably still piss my pants a little

Lol, this is so spot on!!!
