Good luck, it’s amazing how difficult something like that can be. Had do put our 15 year old German Shepherd down almost a year ago and it’s still difficult for the entire family

That sucks, man. I’m sorry it’s come to that.

I had to put my dog down back in 2000. Still hard to think about getting another. Heck, I didn’t even have a cat until 6-7 years ago.

I would imagine it's difficult for the vets as well. Imagine having that be a regular part of your job. I would imagine it's one of the reasons why there is a high suicide rate associated with veterinarians.

Nurse, I have lost two in the last 9 months. Pugs like yours. The people that cremated both did paw prints that are about the size of large Christmas ornaments. Good keepsakes.

So sorry for you. However, letting your son see you cry is healthy. You both loved this dog so much. It is not easy, but it is the humane thing to do.

You might Google "The Rainbow Bridge". I cry every time I read it. But it does give some comfort. Born & raised Catholic, I questioned a priest about dogs going to heaven. He said "No. They have no soul.". To this day, I believe that my (anyone's) beloved pets are waiting for us! Remember the good times with your pet!??

Yeah I've heard that as well. I wanted to do paw prints while he was alive so my husband could look at the prints and see it as a happy memory. Our dog was being all goofy while we were doing the pawprints so it also created a happy memory for us as well.

Sorry to hear the sad news. It breaks your heart, but it is something you have to do as a dog owner. When my Border Collie had to be put down earlier this year, it broke me up. She was a super dog. We decided to adopt an older Border Collie to make the last year (if that) of his life full of affection. I kind of thought it might be easier since we won't have the dog a really long time, but I have a feeling it is going to be just as rough.

A good last meal for the dog is also good. Our Border Collie was too sick to eat so we missed that. But, she loved little kids and the vet's assistant had a young son who came out to hug her goodbye. The dog had not moved all morning, but gave him three dog kisses and then went back to moving. Those three kisses were her last activities.

My 12 year old boy is crying and it breaks my heart but my dog is suffering and I cant bear to watch it anymore. My dog is also 12 so the two of then literally grew up together. Sucks man...first time I've had to put down a dog

Had to do the same many years ago. Bought him a filet and he woofed it down. I cried like baby, and still feel badly about it when I think about it. He was blind, deaf, and hurting, but I wished he would have died at home, they wouldn’t let me be with him at the facility. My condolences, no substitute for a great dog.

I'm sorry for you. My daughter went through that last week. So sad, and worse when your kid is hurting. Can't let your dog suffer though. Stay strong.

That's terrible. I've lost several in my life, including one earlier this year. I still think about that dog every day.

Put my buddy down 2 months ago. The right thing to do, but the hardest thing to do. Take sometime today say goodbye. Mine got a bacon cheese burger and blue bell ice cream.

It's difficult, but part of the responsibility of owning a pet.

It's one of the worst pains I've ever experienced. I cried for weeks. Best of luck.

I'm so sorry! An incredibly tough and sad way to lose a beloved member of the family. Prayers for you and yours.

Will never have another dog after my 19 yo min pin lost his battle with glaucoma (both eyes). Just too painful.
