I hear ya, but $200 is nosebleed now. The "big acts" are now charging way more than that these days.

Concerts I’ve seen lately:
Three Dog Night
The Doobie Brothers
Pam Tillis
Lorrie Morgan
Diamond Rio
The Eagles
Joe Nichols
Marie Osmond
A J Croce
Air Supply
TG Sheppard
Tomorrow night I’ll see KC and The Sunshine Band.
I was at the first concert in the Super Dome. The very first Concert in the Louisiana Super Dome happened years ago in 1975. The Grand opening of the Dome was August 3, 1975.
That first concert billed as "The Pride of Dixie" included The Allman Brothers Band with Gregg Allman's newlywed Cher along with the Marshall Tucker Band, Wet Willie and The Charlie Daniels Band with several others. Tickets were $10.00 advance and $12.00 at the gate. Over 80,000 people attended this first ever concert in the dome which made it the largest indoor concert of that era.

I've been front row at Metallica, and the Stones.
I saw Warrant in the mid 90s in a former strip club when all the glory had faded and they were just out there for fun.
But getting older, at this point I'll take a good tribute band in a bar or club.

What in life isn't overrated at this point?
1. Green bean casseroles.
2. Everything else.
You have to create your own fun by pushing some boundaries. You can’t spend your day on a cell phone or watching tv.. You’ve got a perfectly fun little msg board here courtesy of Chicken to start your day, but after the fourth or fifth cup of coffee you must create the opportunities for fun. If I admitted to a tenth of the things I’ve done I could be under 10 different jails.
All of them were interesting and fun and make great stories for my grandchildren.
I am very grateful for this post which makes me think back over all these things. I’ve lived all over the US and Mexico, met interesting people of all stripes and persuasions working interesting jobs, had several interesting and.fun families, and I’m pretty sure that I’m older than you, most likely the oldest person on this board by at least 20 years or 30 years.
The point is don’t talk yourself into being bored when the alternative is there to be taken. I could go on and on, but nuff said.

Got me beat. The two bands I wished I could have seen live in their peak was Fleetwood Mac and zeppelin. Stevie nicks was such a fox.

It was cooler when you didn't have to worry about a mass shooting occurring at the show. Also when tickets were $30-50 dollars.

Great post.
You’d be surprised how old some posters are, which is cool because they still post some good takes and fire.

It’s not for everyone and I hate festivals.
It’s not my job to change your mind. Everyone has their own thing.

Depends on the concert I guess. Tigernurse and I went to Taylor back in November and it was the most fun I've had in a long long time. Would go back tomorrow if she was touring again and I could get a ticket.
Bring on the 2026 tour.
Or Rep TV.

It depends on where you sit. I don't know if all houses offer this, but because I can read music I get score desk seats and follow along. It is so cool seeing an upcoming crescendo coming up, you get the softer part growing and then POW! it hits you like a wave.
